So the soon-to-be-retired inebriate Jean-Claude Juncker has now declared the Brexit process “a waste of time, and a waste of energy.” That’s awfully rich. This after three years of entrenched EU intransigence and obstructionism, insisting on a punitive withdrawal agreement intended to make the UK an example lest any other state consider throwing off the yoke of subjugation.
After three years of pervasive belittling of UK voters and gratuitous humiliation of our leaders, sociopathic indifference to the economic fragility of commercial enterprise, myopic focus on the federalisation of Europe regardless of consequences, insistence on financial retribution and reckless disregard for honesty – you now want to declare it a “waste of time”, Juncker?
Honestly, we couldn’t agree more, how unnecessary it all was. Had the EU been willing to consider a simple free trade agreement mutually beneficial to all concerned, this could have been done and dusted in 2017.
Had we had a Leave government and a Leave parliament we would have been out months ago. But as always, our MPs put themselves and their parties before the people that elected them and before the interests of the country.
Contemptible.
Britain needs an election, and it needs one right away.
